ACM 2029

From the ACM Steering Committee

We are looking forward to seeing you at the Asteroids, Comets, Meteors 2026 meeting in Poznan, Poland, from 6-10 July 2026. Please find more information here: https://acm2026.eu/.

This message announces that the ACM Steering Committee (ACM-SC) is calling for Letters of Intent to host the next ACM conference after ACM 2026, tentatively scheduled for 2029 (maintaining the triennial pace). In particular, we encourage Letters of Intent from outside the Americas and Europe.

The Letter of Intent should describe the organizing entity and provide contact details for the lead organizer(s). The Letter should describe

(1) the suitability of the conference venue [ACM2023 had around 650 attendees]
(2) tentative dates for ACM2029
(3) travel information [to and from the proposed location; hotel availability; need and difficulty of obtaining visas; local attractions for tourism; etc.]
(4) any relevant experience hosting large-scale conferences
(5) any envisaged partners and funding support
(6) potential engagement with and impact on the local astronomy, science, and broader public communities.

Successful bids need not have experience or low costs in all of these categories.

Please note that ACM is not a professional society, and there is no carryover of funds or debts from one meeting to another.

The Letter of Intent should not exceed three pages in length and can be submitted via e-mail to the ACM-SC chair. The timeline is as follows.
  • Call for Letters of Intent distributed: February 1, 2026
  • Due date for letters of intent: May 8, 2026
  • Proposers notified by ACM-SC: June 5, 2026
As is the custom, the public announcement of the location and host of ACM2029 will be made at the ACM2026 banquet.

We are looking forward to receiving outstanding proposals concerning ACM2029.

See you in Poznan!

With kind regards,
ACM Steering Committee
